Let the celebration of love begin! Valentine’s Day is finally here and we’ve put together some awesome ways that you can show your love and appreciation to not only your soulmate, but to the environment too!

1. Make your own cards- Nothing shows true love quite like a handwritten, homemade card! Rather than purchasing a traditional pre-made card, get your creative juices flowing using recycled paper. You’ll show love to your soulmate and the planet by doing this.
2. Fair Trade is pretty sweet- Swap out conventional, boring store-bought chocolates with some wholesome fair-trade chocolates. By purchasing fair-trade chocolates, you are supporting fair paid workers and farmers that grow cocoa in a safe and environmentally friendly working conditions. Or better yet, swing by your local farmers market for some seriously sweet treats!
3. Farm to table- Nothing is more romantic than avoiding a over-priced meal at an overly-fancy restaurant. Show off your cooking skills by staying at home this Valentine’s Day and cooking a fresh meal made with organic produce.
4. Home grown arrangement- Rather than picking up flowers at a grocery store, head over to your local nursery and pick out a variety of flowers to plant in your own garden. Think of all the quality time you’ll get with your loved one, while nurturing new plant life!
5. ‘Wrapping’ but make it reusable- Once you’ve gathered your collection of sustainable gifts, package them up into a cute reusable bag. By doing this, you will be reducing the amount of paper or plastic needing to be thrown away and you now have the perfect canvas bag for grocery shopping or running errands!
